Jason McCool studied as a trumpet player at the Eastman School of Music with teachers including Ralph Alessi, Martin Hodel, Christopher Moore and Chris Fensom, and at Brockton High School (MA) with Vincent Macrina. He has also taken various private lessons with Dave Ballou, Timothy Morrison (assistant princ. trumpet, Boston Symphony Orchestra; soloist for John Williams’ film scores), Charley Davis (top call LA studio player; lead trumpet for Buddy Rich & Woody Herman), Ulan Racie (performed on 4,000+ movie scores), Dean Laabs, John Allmark, & Dr. Robert Stibler (UNH).

His professional work as a trumpet player includes touring the US as a member of the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra, playing on a Royal Caribbean Cruise ship, and summer internships with the Walt Disney All-American College Marching Band (FL) and the Henry Mancini Institute (CA).

Jason also studied piano with teachers including George Colligan (NYC) and Art Lande (Boulder, CO), and voice with teachers including Adrian Angel (teacher to Bernadette Peters, NYC), Andre Solomon-Glover (NYC), and Regina Lucas (Boston, MA).

But he is most proud of the music he makes, however infrequently, with his brilliant musical friends!
